I am introducing myself as this article will soon be published in the BENICIA HERALD newspaper for a special WOMEN IN BUSINESS Sunday section.
A Bay Area native and retired Deputy Probation Officer from Contra Costa County, Dyanne moved to beautiful Benicia in 1981. A great fan of live theatre, she immediately immersed herself in the Benicia Old Town Theatre Group. It was a perfect fit as she has maintained an ongoing active membership. Dyanne has served on ther Board of Directors for over two decades, participated in nearly every job in the group, absent acting, and even met her husband Dan there. She now concentrates on her main interests of Publicity and Costume Design for the group. Check out her BLOG on the theatre's website.
Since 1964, the popular local non-profit community theatre group has delighted patrons from all over the Bay Area with quality live entertainment from dramas, musicals, mysteries, to comedic productions. The newly updated WEBSITE www.beniciaoldtowntheatregroup.com showcases the history of the group, as well as ease in securing tickets for all events. Even non-profit 501 C3 charitable donations are accepted online now. A volunteer organization, this group encourages active hands-on participation for all ages. You may have an interest in building sets, painting, sewing costumes, working backstage, participating in local social events, or serving drinks. This active group invites you to jopin! The ARTY-award winning theatre group produces shows in Spring (April) and Fall (Oct). The comedy of "Don't Dress for Dinner" (Directed by Clinton Vidal) is in rehearsal, to openb April 17- May 9. Online show tickets are on sale for Adults and Seniors/Students. Brought back by popular demand, the special Dinner (at 907 GRILL) and Show package is available. The performance venue is the 100-year old BDES Hall- 140 West J St. With that in mind, on August 15, in collaboration with the owners, BOTTG is planning a "Dinner Show" Celebration FUNDRAISER in honor of the 100 years of this magnificant building! Dyanne will be posting more on this event soon. Additionally, the theatre group is planning another FUNDRAISER on July 11- "War of The Worlds" - a staged radio play. This business never sleeps!
